John Niddrie was the manager of the Royal George Hotel, which was popular with the "Push". He knew Geoffrey Chandler and Pam Logan by sight.
Niddrie's role in the Bogle-Chandler case came when one of his former employees, Fleming Jacobson, said that he had seen Dr Bogle and Mrs Chandler in one of the bars of the Royal George, in either September or October 1962. As this would have indicated a romantic entanglement between Bogle and Chandler long before they were known to have first met, this meeting would have been significant to the investigation.
However, Niddrie, who knew Geoffrey Chandler and Pam Logan by sight, was able to dismiss Jacobson's suggestion. He was certain that neither Bogle nor Mrs Chandler had ever visited the Royal George, and gave evidence at the Bogle-Chandler inquest to that effect.
