Fleming Jacobson was a barman who claimed to have seen Dr Bogle drinking with Mrs Chandler in the Royal George hotel, in September or October 1962.

His testimony was discredited at the inquest by his former employer, Mr Niddrie, who revealed that Jacobson had been dismissed as an unsatisfactory employee. Mr Niddrie knew Chandler by sight and could confirm that Chandler and Pam Logan had both been to the hotel, but said that he had never seen Dr Bogle or Mrs Chandler there.
